Moving!

Not the blog, just...my physical being!

I just thought I'd pop on here and appologize for being semi-vacant recently! I've been running around like a crazy woman with hands full of useless items going who knows where! Just a bit like that!
Anyways, I'm headed off to University now, in the province of Alberta~ It's going to be pretty exciting, and I can't wait to see what classes I'm actually interesting in will be like!

Starving student life, here I come! yah!

(say goodbye to the grey photo-background wall that I do love so dearly~)

Right then, see you all on the other side!

Today I accessioned a 'blowpipe apparatus' at the museum and said goodbye to everyone. It was very sad, but I know I will see them again! If not at Christmas time, then next summer for sure~ (since some people go farther than others..)

I also worked at the Henna place for a street festival this evening, from 7-10. We were so busy that I hardly had a chance to look up for over two hours. It was pretty fun though, for sure~ I'm now totally covered in glitter though!

Hopefully I'll get to talk to a friend this evening whom I've not seen in far too long!

Ciao! (man i'm busy~)

Museum Tea / blog birthday!

Today was my last huge day at the museum in town here, where I volunteer. I spent ages putting accession numbers on various (scary) old medical tools which was far more interesting than I thought it was going to be! (you get to play with all the artifacts...) Then at tea time, I and another fellow who's leaving for school soon, were surprised with the use of the 'fancy' tea cups and fantastic chocolate cake.
They even went through such lengths as to get cake that had no cream it in what-so-ever, and was super-dark chocolate for me. So yummy!
I'm really going to miss everyone there a lot, they are such fantastic people! I'll be sure to visit the museum whenever I'm actually in town from now onwards~ <3

Excuse my very cluttered room!

PS: Oh my goodness, I just realized that my blog is now 1 year and 12 days old! That's pretty crazy, I wasn't sure if I could keep it running that long! Yay!

A most agreeable Adventure

Yesterday I went on a fantastic adventure with a friend from my sailing trip. We walked 6km, built a castle, received strange looks from passers by, stood in the middle of a lake and tried to hitchhike rides from passing boats, climbed rocks, did a touch of caving, ate popcorn in a loud car.
It was fantastic!
(we also saw 5 types of birds, two deer, and two snakes)

The little painting/drawing up there is of the castle we built in the middle of the lake, happily named 'Cinder Block Castle'. It was going to have a flagpole as well, but we couldn't remember where we put the stick after a while.

I got a bit of a sunburn.

This morning I spilled my tea right as it had steeped, and took pictures for you all before making another cup and wiping up the first one.
I've got to work at the Henna hut today!

Have a lovely day!

ps: I leave for University a week tomorrow! Oh my goodness!

I can't wear skirts at work

But I can wear them afterwards! But I wasn't sure what belt to use (this is from Wed)

Yesterday my friend Deirdre came to visit from the Island, and we had a grand time swimming around in the freezing lake and following it up by eating way way too much spicy Indian food. But there is nothing wrong with that. (especially when it is mostly rice and potatoes. mmm )

Also, I got my hair cut again! It's disconnected now...meaning the long bit doesn't fade back into the short bit, it just ends. suddenly!

Hi Karen!

I was up at 5:30 this morning to join my family on a long drive to the aeroport. You see, my brother has a friend who has a cabin out in 'the Peg' someplace, so he is flying out there for a few weeks. And we've only just returned from camping a day or two ago too! The lucky boy! (I don't want to woooooorrrrrk anymore)
Needless to say that I fell asleep in the car and didn't wake up until we arrived.

After that we visited 'Wentworth Music' which has a fantastic selection of guitars, and more mandolins than most other music stores do. I was happily playing a 1499$ lovely, and the acoustics were fantastic! It had a cast bronze tale-piece with really helps the sound stay in the strings and not rattle around (or something) and that coupled with it just being a fantastically made mandolin were great! A bunch of the shop's customers and employees wandered by while I was playing and made comments. I'm glad to know my playing has gotten good enough for possitive feedback in public! (now I just need to learn some new songs!)

And I've clearly now got a harmonica.
I'll let you all know how that goes.

Off to the Museum!

Untitled Adventure

That ship wreck, the Peter Iredale, was one of the most epic things I've ever seen! (even if it was only a pile of metal)
What on earth could be below the deck? Wood cannot rot underwater, so the deck has held up to a lot, and the fact that the hatch is open, and light is coming in from a hole in the side...I wonder how far under the deck it goes?

And hello again!
I'll make a slightly more wordy post tomorrow or the next day, but for now you all can enjoy my interesting camping trip pictures~

ps: I can quote you the price of leather after I get some, Brandon. Maybe at christmas or something.

Wearing: Striped shorts and top from GAP

I'm sorry my one actual outfit picture is sideways. Photoshot clearly has it in for me. Or maybe it's Blogger! One or the other, because the photo is not turned that way on the actual file.

I checked.

Twice.

So once again I have to bid you all adeu, as I'm off to the coast of Washington for a little camping over the next week! Stay Lovely!

Today I got up late and lazed around my house, pleased to have a few hours of time in a morning for the first time in over a week. Potatoes make a fantastic breakfast, and when accompanied by the charming Doctor...well! I've beet totally wrapped up in Doctor Who for a while now and having just been away for two weeks missed a lot of episodes! Luckily I have time to watch them all in between the actual airing ones. You know what you are so into something that you start seeing things everywhere that relate to it in some way. Yup, I'm there. (also the same for Harry Potter, and LOTR)

I also have a dilemma. I'm building a carbon-fibre mandolin with my dad, and I have to decide if I need a new tailpiece for it or not. The one I was to purchase is $90.00, nickle plated bronze. Bronze tail pieces are supposed to greatly improve the sound (or so I've heard). Do any of you know anything on the subject?

Dreadlocks?!!

Hallo! That is my bestest friend Amber right there with me! I've spent a good portion of yesterday, and some of the day before giving her dreadlocks. They're not quite finished, and Amber does have to go home today, but I'm sure someone will help her finish the very top of them all. We were so close! (but then we went to see Inception, and it ate a good 2.5 hours of our dreading time. oops!) (( pretty good film though ))
